![]() It's really nice to be able to have a "master" VM that can be cloned at will, but it's a bit of a pain to do. especially if you want to rename the file in the file system AND give the VM a new name in the Library window. It seems this whole process of duplicating (or cloning) a VM should be a LOT easier. I was able to correct the problem by removing all of the entries in /etc/udev/rules.d/les, shutting the VM down, renaming it again, and opening it, selecting "I copied it" after which it was assigned a new MAC address which Ubuntu recognized. The odd thing is that I always select "I copied it" and for some bizarre reason I've had networking stop working on two Ubuntu Hardy VMs after updating them with the latest Ubuntu updates. Have tried rebooting and then immediately update Fusion without doing anything else. I believe that should say: When you choose "I copied it" one of the effects is to generate a new MAC address, since moving the VM shouldn't need to change anything.
